Kingfisher oneworld entry deferred — indefinitely

Kingfisher Airlines' oneworld entry was deferred indefinitely in 2012 due to financial issues, resulting in the loss of potential benefits for King Club members. This development has no impact on current Indian travel credit cards.

Kingfisher Airlines’ entry into oneworld was indefinitely deferred on February 4, 2012, due to the airline’s financial issues. The airline was set to join oneworld on February 10, 2012, but the plan was put on hold. This decision meant Kingfisher Airlines never joined the alliance, suspending flying eight months later. King Club members lost access to a global mileage network before it was even available to them. Our take: since Kingfisher Airlines is no longer operational and never joined oneworld, cardholders should not consider this development when making decisions about their travel credit cards.
