Kingfisher Stripped of Routes — 100% Loss

Kingfisher Airlines lost international rights and domestic slots, rendering King Club miles worthless. The programme is now defunct, with no further redemptions or transfers possible.

Kingfisher Airlines lost its international traffic rights and domestic airport slots on February 25, 2013. The DGCA handed over routes to Dubai, London, Singapore, and Bangkok to rival airlines. This move ended any possibility of King Club members redeeming miles on a real flight again, effectively killing the frequent-flyer programme.

The King Club programme, once considered India’s most prestigious, is now defunct. Members who had accumulated miles are left with no way to redeem them for flights, rendering their miles worthless.

Our take: if you’re still holding onto Kingfisher miles, it’s time to accept that they’re worthless. Do not expect any further redemptions or transfers, and consider this programme closed.
