IndusInd adds 2% DCC fee
IndusInd Bank introduces a 2% Dynamic Currency Conversion fee plus GST on most of its cards, including the IndusInd Tiger, effective 15 June 2026. This fee applies when foreign merchants bill in rupees.
IndusInd Bank has announced that it will be charging a 2% Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) fee plus GST on most of its credit cards, including the Platinum, Legend, Nexxt, EazyDiner, Signature, Samman, and Tiger variants, starting from 15 June 2026. This fee will be applicable whenever a cardholder allows a foreign merchant to bill them in rupees. The introduction of this fee brings IndusInd Bank in line with other issuers that already charge a DCC fee. It’s a standard practice in the industry, but it can still catch cardholders off guard, especially those who are used to the zero-forex travel pitch of the IndusInd Tiger card. The best way to avoid this fee is to always choose to pay in the local currency when making transactions abroad. This way, the conversion will be handled by the card issuer, avoiding the DCC fee charged by the merchant. Our take: If you’re an IndusInd Bank credit card holder, make sure to opt for the local currency when transacting abroad to avoid the 2% DCC fee. This change may chip away at the attractiveness of the IndusInd Tiger’s zero-forex travel benefits, but being aware of the fee and taking the right steps can help minimize its impact.
